About Hills Products Group

Hills Products Group (HPG) is a subsidiary of Northwestern Engineering Company (NWE), founded by Morris Adelstein as a small engineering and contracting company and incorporated in 1927.
HPG’s Whitewood, SD, plant, acquired in 1986, is primarily engaged in wood preservation as well as specialty fencing applications, special fabricating and a number of value-added products such as steel fencing T-posts, various types of wire, pressure-treated dimension lumber, rough lumber, post-frame building materials, highway and utility products, wood foundation plywood and posts and poles. The Whitewood plant is also home to our sales and administrative offices.  The sales and logistics staff handles the sales and shipping, not only from our own plants, but also direct sales of lumber and utility poles.
Belle Fourche Sawmills was added in 1991 for the purpose of remanufacturing and distribution of wood products.  The mill’s compressed, bagged shavings are marketed as animal bedding.  Recently, a state of the art molder was installed to produce quality pattern lumber and siding.  The location is also home to the company’s fleet of distribution trucks which deliver semi-weekly in a six-state area.
This uniqueness of combining manufacturing, distribution, and a broad spectrum of products sets Hills Products Group apart from the competition.  Our dedication to quality products and long-term relationships assures you of our commitment.
